Frequently Asked Questions

Is this where I can take Pole Dancing Classes?

YES! We offer three levels of Pole classes. Beginning with Strip to Fit, this fun class includes beginner level spins and great dance work. Pole Technique is a course in Spins, Swings, and Pole moves designed to help build strength and confidence. Once the Pole is your friend and you are ready to move up, we offer Intermediate Pole. This class is designed to take your pole skills to the next level. Beginning with climbing, mastering inversions, and linking spins together, Intermediate Pole class is bringing you to new heights!

What is the difference between Pole and Strip to Fit?

Pole Technique is a great class that will move you through the challenges of learning and mastering the Pole. Beginning with the basics and moving through the advancements of swings, you will build upper body strength while perfecting your spins and confidence. The 12 week sessions will help you to master the beginner level spins and prepare for more advanced pole work. Strip to Fit is a Dance and Fitness class that uses Choreography, Pole Fitness and good ole fashion exercise to tone, teach and workout the whole body. Using the sexiest of moves, the safest methods of Pole, and good exercise theory, you will work your entire body and learn basics of Pole work.

What class should I take first?

Strip to Fit is the beginner level class. This class will help you to learn your way around the Pole, build confidence to get both feet off the floor, and prepare your mind and body for Pole Technique. Pole Technique is the next move up the Pole that consists of learning the basics and building up to more complicated spins while building strength and stamina. Intermediate Pole is the next step and will be waiting for you whenever you are ready.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably. Each class requires different attire, but the basics are all the same. Be COMFORTABLE. In Strip to Fit and Pole, shorts are best, but yoga pants, shorts or capri's are all fine. A T-shirt or tank top is fine. Heels are always optional, but if you are not in your heels, bare feet is preferable. For yoga, plan to dress in your easiest to move in clothes, bare feet, and an open mind. For Hip Hop and Zumba, come in tennis shoes, plan to sweat, and toss the shoes if they do not work for you. For any class including Pole, we request you do not wear any lotions or oils. and rings can damage the poles, please keep them in a safe place, other than the studio.

How long is class?

All classes are an hour long unless noted otherwise on the schedule. Workshops and other events will have different times associated with each event. Private Parties and classes are one hour and fifteen minutes. Private sessions can be scheduled by calling or emailing the office and arranging a time in half-hour increments.

Can I watch?

Sometimes people are not comfortable with others watching them learn a new dance. We generally discourage watching participants, and we promise you will have more fun if you join in. Please feel free to stop in any time Monday through Thursday to visit the studio, see the facility, and gather information. You can peek into a class if there is one happening, but we ask that you attend soon, as the real fun happens in class!

How do I register for classes?

You can register online by clicking here. You can call the studio, 386-2345, between 12pm and 9pm any day to register for class, book a party, or ask any other question you can think of. You can also send us an email at info@striptofit.net.

How many other people are in a class?

All of our classes are limited to 10 people. In the Pole classes this is because there are 10 poles. In the other classes is it to insure that the instructors have time for each student.

What is yoga for men?

Yoga for Men is a unique atmosphere where men are encouraged to try yoga and find for themselves the balance and stillness that is often missing in our lives. We use a set of sequences conceived to serve the bodies they were designed for. Yoga for Men is a new look at misunderstood niyama. Reservations are appreciated but not required.
